In order to give substance to the sustainable construction concept, Secil proposed itself to create an innovative mortar that could revolutionize the current standards of sustainable performance of this type of material. This material is a combination of hydraulic binder, with proven level of durability (Secil’s portland cement), natural lightweight aggregate and cork renewables, thus replacing the siliceous or limestone aggregate (non-renewable sources).
The research was conducted in collaboration with ITECONS (Research and Technological Development in Construction Sciences Institute), who made all characterization tests in the developed products. The range consists of 3 products, intended for façade cladding, for lifting pieces of masonry and filling and regularization of floors.
