In order to embody the concept of Sustainable Construction, Secil set out to design an innovative mortar that would truly revolutionize current sustainable performance standards for this type of material. The material consists of the association of a hydraulic binder with proven durability (Secil portland cement) and light natural and renewable cork aggregates, thus replacing siliceous or limestone aggregates (of non-renewable origin).
The research work was carried out in collaboration with ITECONS (Institute for Research and Technological Development in Construction Sciences), which carried out all the characterization tests on the products developed. The range consists of 3 products, intended for covering facades, lifting masonry panels and filling and leveling floors.
